Yamaha XSR 700 Flat Tracker Yard Built by Jigsaw Customs

This Yamaha XSR700 Flat Tracker built by Jigsaw Customs was featured at the 2017 Wheels & Waves festival in Biarritz and was commissioned by the Yamaha Yard Built program.

Based in Greece, Jigsaw Customs is the Custom shop of the Mechanic Petros Chatzirodelis. Petros grew up inside his father’s Repair shop and from a young age he was surrounded by motorcycles and customizing, since his father was preparing motorcycles for dragster races. Petros studied to be a mechanic and he later took charge of the family repair shop keeping the spirit of Customizing and Restoring.

Based on the American flat trackers of the 70s and more specifically the 1975 TZ750, the concept is to adjust the lightweight chassis, the powerful engine and the compact dimensions of an XSR700 to the American flat tracker standards.

“We’re huge fans of motorcycles from the 1970s and 1980s,” says Jigsaw boss Petros Chatzirodelis. “We also do a lot of restorations—so it was exactly the kind of project we like to have in our garage.”

“We started by drawing simple and small body panels,” says Petros. “Every line was close to the 1970s style, and we felt that a monocoque body panel would look really cool.”

Petros says, The XSR700 has a very powerful and elastic engine that combining it with its light weight and fast geometry makes it a really A cool bike to ride. If I look it from the Custom side of it for this project, its compact size is perfect for Flat Track riding.
